Senior BICSI Technician – Advanced Experience

Location: Houston, TX
Company: Facility Solutions Group (FSG)
Pay: $80,000–$95,000+ annually
Hourly Equivalent: Approximately $38–$46+/hour

Position Summary

Talent Corps is seeking a Senior BICSI Technician with advanced commercial structured cabling experience to join a leading technology contractor supporting projects throughout the Houston market.

This role is ideal for an experienced technician who can work independently, handle complex installations, troubleshoot issues in the field, and help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Technicians will support a variety of technology infrastructure projects, including structured cabling, fiber optics, low-voltage systems, DAS, Audio/Visual, service, and maintenance .

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, label, test, and troubleshoot Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A copper cabling and fiber optic cabling.
• Perform advanced cable testing and certification using Fluke or equivalent testing equipment .
• Install cable pathways, including conduit, J-hooks, cable tray, ladder rack, and sleeves.
• Install and dress network racks, cabinets, patch panels, and related equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, schematics, and low-voltage construction drawings.
• Troubleshoot complex structured cabling and low-voltage issues.
• Install and support structured cabling, DAS, A/V, and other technology infrastructure.
• Perform service, repair, and maintenance on existing low-voltage systems.
• Maintain accurate testing documentation, labeling, and as-built information.
• Coordinate with project managers, foremen, general contractors, and other trades.
• Help maintain quality standards and ensure installations meet BICSI, TIA/EIA, OSHA, and customer requirements.
• Work safely and professionally on active commercial construction sites.

Required Qualifications

• BICSI certification preferred.
• Advanced commercial structured cabling experience.
• Strong experience with copper and/or fiber optic termination.
• Advanced knowledge of low-voltage installation practices.
• Experience with Fluke or equivalent cable certification equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve field installation issues independently.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work from ladders and lifts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fiber splicing and testing experience.
• DAS installation experience.
• Audio/Visual installation experience.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Data center experience.
• Service technician experience.
• Experience leading or mentoring junior technicians.
• Experience working on large-scale commercial technology projects.

Senior Technicians may support projects involving:

• Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)
• Audio/Visual (A/V)
• Service & Maintenance
• Commercial Technology Infrastructure

Projects may include new construction, renovations, tenant improvements, data centers, and ongoing commercial service work throughout the Houston market.

Must-Haves

• Senior-level commercial structured cabling experience
• Copper and/or fiber termination experience
• Strong blueprint-reading skills
• Advanced troubleshooting experience
• Fluke testing experience preferred
• Houston-area candidate
• Reliable transportation
